International Day of the Tropics

The International Day of the Tropics was established by the United Nations to highlight the rich biodiversity of the tropics, whilst also raising awareness of the challenges people residing in nations within the tropics face, as well as the dangers of extinction the tropics are facing due to unsustainable practises. The United Nations aims to promote protection of tropical ecosystems, as well as improving the living conditions of people in these regions.
