Cinco De Mayo originally celebrates the Mexican Army’s defeat of France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, however, the holiday has largely become a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage in the United States. Today, Cinco De Mayo is usually celebrated through parades, dancing to Mexican folk music and enjoying traditional food with friends and family.
