St Patrick’s Day takes place on the anniversary of the death of St Patrick. This day has been celebrated as a religious holiday in Ireland for over 1000 years. Although historically St Patrick’s Day was observed through attending church, modern day celebrations include attending parades, wearing green, eating green foods and dancing.
