March 25
The United Nations established the annual observance of International Day of Remembrance of the victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade to honour the 13 million African men, women and children who were enslaved as a result of the Transatlantic Slave Trade. 25 March is a day of reflection, remembrance and recognition of the hardships endured by people who were victimised by this practise.
