SUMMARY:Sukkot
DESCRIPTION:Sukkot is an eight-day-long festival celebrating the harvest and remembering the story of Exodus\, when Moses led the Jewish people to freedom from slavery in Egypt. \nDuring this celebration\, many families build a sukkah\, which is a temporary booth with at least three walls and a roof covering made from thatch or branches. This symbolises the dwellings used by the Israelites during the 40 years spent in the desert after being freed from slavery. \nDuring Sukkot\, Jewish people will spend as much time within sukkah as possible\, especially during mealtimes. The celebrations also include the ‘four species’\, which involves holding a citrus fruit and a bunch of myrtle\, palm and willow sticks.
